Women and gender studies

Watch the film Iron Jawed Angels and write a review. Iron Jawed Angels is a fictional movie based on true historical events. Alice Paul and Lucy Burns were real women fighting for suffrage. It will be your responsibility to locate and watch the film; I will not post it via CANVAS.

The written film review should follow these guidelines: a minimum of 900 words (about 3 double-spaced pages, 12-point font, Times New Roman), about 6 high-quality, well-developed paragraphs. You should critically reflect on the film using material we have read in this course by considering the film carefully, analyzing its representations, themes, and issues, reflecting on all of these meanings, and articulating your critical and thoughtful evaluations. You must quote directly from our textbook at least twice (at least once from two different articles/readings/sources) to show that you are linking class material to your film review.
Some questions to consider:

*How are conflicts in feminism (especially First Wave) played out in this film?

*Which parts did you find most moving or touching? Why?

*Which parts did you find most disturbing or difficult to watch? Why?

*Did this movie change your mind at all about feminist movement(s)? Why/why not?
